From your friends and comrades in the union movement

Pauline- our best wishes are with you, Greg, Bridget and Danny.

Your friends all over the union movement know what a fighter you are, and how your strength, intelligence and fierceness delivered so much for individual workers, and for the broader rights of the workers you stood up for, as a rank and file nurse during the 1986 strike to your service for the ANF and the FSU.

You are surrounded by your close friends and family, who are no doubt supporting you in this difficult time.

We want you to know that there are those of us who, while a bit further away, are thinking of you and wishing you and your family all the love and courage we know you have.

Dear Pauline, I have been lying awake most of the night thinking of you, Greg and the children and how you all must be feeling right now. I just wanted to tell you that you were without doubt the best union organiser I have ever encountered. The way you retained your integrity and managed to apply your personal and political principles was inspiring and a joy to behold. Truly. My only regret is that I was so caught up with my own problems and work that I never developed the close friendship that I know we could have had (especially as we were nearly neighbours for awhile there). I thought I’d make up for that when I retired. And that’s my loss. I hope you are comfortable and at peace and you can be proud of the fact that you did indeed make a difference. Love to you, Jan Brownrigg

Dear Pauline, Greg and the Kids,
Just to say that although our meetings were infrequent and mainly centred around the Not The Bloody BBQ afternoon we are thinking of you all at this time. In these very sad circumstances, we draw strength from your amazing approach to what would be for most of us an overwhelming experience. We are glad you are getting the opportunity to have the love of so many of your friends affirmed, and we hope you enjoy the time you have left with those close to you.

All our love,

Joel, Giacomina and the kids
