Support for Pauline, Greg, Bridget and Dan

Having known Pauline for over 20 years I have watched her attract the most amazing bunch of friends from all walks of life. She has old high school buddies (of which Greg is one), nursing mates, union comrades, footy mates, Human Resource colleages, in more recent years her Alphington friends of which there are so many and others who have come into her life in all sorts of ways. How she has kept up with you all amazes me (even with all those lunch dates!).

I have been overwhelmed at the number of people who have offered to help in some way. I have spoken with Greg and it is for this reason I am posting to the blog to let you know how you might volunteer for something if that is what you would like to do.

As Pauline is very tired we would like be of as little disruption to the family as possible as they spend this precious time together.

We have four coordinators- dog walking, meals, garden maintenance and respite. The coordinators details are provided below and can be contacted if you would like to know more and go on the roster.

If you have any trouble contacting the coordinator via email please feel free to contact me anytime on my mobile 0407 838 913 or email louise.ajani@gmail.com.au

For those who do not have email and have access to this journal...

Thank you so much for the fantastic offers of assisting with meals for the Loats/Scott family!

Wow!

There are almost 40 of us wanting to pour love into food, create beautiful meals and sustain the family - you are all very very generous!

I know you are all anxious to help and there will be opportunities. Before anything, I am hoping to catch up with Greg on meals generally.

I understand from Anna Roberts and Louise Ajani that Pauline was quite ill today and has become less agile just in the last few days.

Mother's Day

Whilst I know the family fridge and freezer were well and truly ok as of Sunday 4 May, Louise suggested it would be nice to be thinking about a lovely Sunday mother's day lunch for 11 May.

Something simple that can be shared with Rose.

Bridget and Dan do have their favourites - macaroni & cheese, lasagna, Bolognese, pizza.

I will however need to come back to you about this after discussing with Greg however only let me know if you are UNABLE to help on Sunday.

Roster

I am preparing the roster based on food preparation and delivery for two days Saturday and Tuesday each week until December (in consultation with Greg).

I am hoping this means 'less' fridge/freezer storage requirements.

Maybe labelling your dishes, plastic containers might help too or alternatively using something that can go into recycle.

No big deal if 'plastic' goes missing but tracking the favourite ceramic platter or biscuit tin is one less thing for Greg to think about!

Any suggestions or ideas you have or meals you are aware the family likes (if you've not specified already) please let me know.

Thx again ...
