rest in peace our darling pauline

Dear Friends

She died most beautifully - the culmination of a beautiful life.

To Greg and Bridget and Danny,
My deepest sympathy to you all. I remember Pauline as a strong advocate for nurses at the ANF and I remember the last time we spoke, when she was still in hospital after the birth of Bridget. The world is a sadder place now she is not here.

It was good to see Pauline for the last time on Wednesday night. She was loved by many people and lived a truly worthy life (she lived up to the EHS motto!).

She will be sadly missed by all of us.

Dear Greg, Bridget, Danny and Rose,
My deepest sympathy to you all. While we had not kept in close touch since her union days, and with the busy life that came of having children, i want you to know that many union colleagues will never forget Pauline's strength and passion and her deep set of values... and her fantastic laugh... You must all feel such loss, but also pride to have had such a person as partner, mother and sister.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all-Greg, Bridget, Danny, Rose and all the family. Loving sympathy to each one.
What a wonderful role model Pauline has been for so many. I treasure our time together at Mercy. Her life and death has indeed had an immense influence on others.

Dearest Greg (Blossom), Bridget & Danny, Pauline was an extraordinary woman in so many ways....she will live long in the memories of all whose lives she touched. My heart goes out to you. McGie xx

A story.... I plucked The Wife of Martin Guerre off the shelf last night as a possible text for a class. I haven't opened that book in, maybe, 25 years.

This is what's on the title page: To dear Jen, may all the happiness in the world be yours, not only this year but in the years to come. Thanks for your friendship - it means a lot. Love and kisses, Pauline 1979.
